Mountain Hardwear and Montrail Move to In-House Sales Team

Mountain HardwearMountain Hardwear announced the transition from an agency sales model to an in-house selling organization in the Northeast and Midwest United States, plus the addition of three new members to the sales team.

Both Mountain Hardwear and Montrail will use the direct sales team model to provide dedicated sales and service support in the Northeast and Midwest regions. The brands were previously represented by the Northeast and Midwest-based sales agencies of Stoner-Andrews, Inc., Kevin Brew Sales and Pemba Serves, Inc.

Two regional specialty sales managers and an eastern regional sales manager have been appointed to support the brands' sales teams in the Northeast and Midwest regions. Dedicated sales reps will be hired in these regions as well.

Jim Lupinski is now the Northeast Regional Specialty Sales Manager for Mountain Hardwear and Montrail. He'll be familiar with the Northeast, having worked there for the past 10 years and most recently served as a key account sales rep for Columbia. Lupinski will be based in Leominster, Massachusetts and will will be responsible for that state, plus Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Jon Hanson was named Specialty Sales Manager for the Midwest region and, like Lupinski, Hanson will have a number of areas to oversee. Hanson's territory covers North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. He has served as a Specialty and Key Account Sales Representative for Columbia for nearly a decade. Both Hanson and Lupinski will be reporting to Mike Welch, Eastern Regional Sales Manager for Mountain Hardwear and Jason Hill, National Sales Manager for Montrail.

Mike Welch has been appointed as Eastern Regional Sales Manager for Mountain Hardwear. He will be leading the sales initiatives throughout the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest and Ohio Valley territories. Welch has a wealth of sales and marketing experience and he most recently served as North American Sales and Marketing Director for Mammut Sportsgroup. He will be based in Stowe, Vermont and will report directly to Jason McGibbon, National Sales Manager for Mountain Hardwear.

The overall goal of Montrail and Mountain Hardwear is to establish a strong relationship with the retailers through this in-house agency. Former sales reps, Stoner-Andrews, Inc., Kevin BrewSales and Pemba Serves, Inc., will be supporting the transition with the in-house team and customers through December 1, 2011.
