DENALI TO OPEN SEVENTH STORE

Outdoor specialty retailer Denali recently announced they will open a new retail location on Main Street in Old Saybrook, Conn. this spring.

At 8,000 square feet, the space will include a two-level retail space, an outdoor patio, as well as a community room where local events can be hosted. The new store, located at 75 Main Street, is expected to open this spring.

This latest expansion will be the retailer’s seventh location across Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Denali opened its sixth location last fall in Connecticut’s Westfield Trumbull Mall. The store’s unique design, which includes birch, hemlock and maple trees as merchandise fixtures, gives customers a feeling of being in the woods. The store is also filled with baker’s carts, trunks and wire spools turned on end, adding to the rustic ambiance.

“We are thrilled to be coming to Main Street,” said Denali owner Chris Howe in statement on the retailer’s website. “Old Saybrook is a strong, vibrant community. After more than twenty years on the shoreline, we are excited to have this opportunity. In a town known for its connection to community and high service standards, we look forward to earning our place.”

Denali, along with Trailblazer, form a family of independent outdoor retail destinations in southern Connecticut and Rhode Island. Since 1994, they have been fulfilling customers’ outdoor apparel, footwear and gear needs. They carry a carefully crafted selection of items from a variety of sources, including mainstays like Patagonia, North Face, UGG, Merrell, GoPro and Smartwool as well as more obscure offerings from Arc’Teryx, Lucy, Toad & Co., Yeti, Hoka One One and others.
