The FabricLink Network Announces Product Development Resource for Specialty Textile Industry

E-mail

The FabricLink Network announces its new and improved website functionality that will help solidify its standing as a one-stop resource for “everything fabric” on the Internet. With improved search functionality, this new technology allows improved access to company and product information for designers, manufacturers and consumers on both FabricLink.com (trade-to-consumer) and TheTechnicalCenter.com (trade-to-trade).

"The FabricLink Network was developed for the specialty fabric industry and its customers,” says Kathlyn Swantko, creator of the FabricLink Network. “You focus your search on the topics that interest you and select only the information you want to see. We know your time is valuable. With FabricLink, there's no wasted time following links that promote services and products you're not interested in, and there are no annoying popup ads!"

Specialty manufacturing designers and product developers can investigate and narrow searches for key contacts in specific end-use applications by going to the End Use Index. This index lists the leading companies and innovations for products connected to a particular application. The index also links to presentation pages that feature detailed information about products and companies that can solve product development challenges. This information includes fabric usage, testing results, diagrams, end use applications, samples and industry contacts.

Since the fabric industry is so fragmented, Swantko says, her company spent most of its time making sure that visitors to the sites could quickly find and interact with other industry leaders. "Networking is the key to developing new fabric innovations and finished products,” she says. “Whether you're looking for ideas, new products to use in your designs or for partners and suppliers for production purposes, our searchable indexes provide you with a fast and convenient way to connect."

The FabricLink Network has made its information more accessible and informative in other ways, as well. In the New Product Development section, for example, visitors can find inside information on the latest in terms of both products and the companies on the leading edge of research and innovation.

Trends in product development strategy can be found in the Mudpie Fashion Forecast on TheTechnicalCenter.com website. Top forecasts for spring/summer 2011 are in the Trends section, which provides new colors and inspiration for the upcoming season.

To find a particular mill or product, site visitors can use the searchable indexes on the left hand side of the website. Searches provide alphabetic lists by companies, trademarks, fiber/yarn, fabrics, technology/finish and new product development.

Finally, the FabricLink Network’s new and improved Overhead Search, located at the top of key pages on both FabricLink.com and TheTechnicalCenter.com, allows searching by keywords across the thousand plus pages that make up the FabricLink Network.
