Insotect FlowGate insulation technology from Insotect Ltd. has been officially adopted into several Montbell sleeping bags available for sale during the 2010/2011 season. The adoption marks the first official relationship between the two companies in their history.
Montbell will carry the insulation technology in their Spiral Down Hugger line of sleeping bags. These bags utilize an innovative diagonal baffle design which results in a longer than normal baffle tube. This increase in length would typically also mean an increase in down-shifting within the baffle tube, but Insotect FlowGate prevents this down-shifting through the stabilization of the down across the long tube. Holding the down in place maintains uniform heat distribution, while at the same time reducing overall system weight.
