Concept III Introduces New Merino Blends

on .

Two years ago NJ-based Concept III Textiles joined forces with Australian Merino State, a division of Charles Parsons & Co., to introduce a new fine micron textile collection to the outdoor industry in the U.S. and Canada. Some of these new blends include M-fleece, a hard wearing polyester jersey face with a brushed back and Therm-o-cool, a thermal regulator with a hybrid fiber mix providing evaporative cooling and thermo-buffering functions.

Concept III has recently received a Newmerino accreditation; Newmerino is a brand of Australian merino wool grown by wool producers using sustainable farming systems, land management and holistic animal welfare standards. The acknowledgment is the product of a number of sustainable practices, most notably, a new dyeing process that allows savings of 15% less dyestuffs, 22% less electricity for heating and cooling, 50% less thermal energy to create steam and 60% less water over conventional dyeing.
