Salomon Innovates in Trail Running Category
Salomon Sports announced the release of a new trail shoe, the S-Lab Sense. Developed in collaboration with mountain athlete Kilian Jornet, engineers and designers in Salomon’s Annecy, France-based research and development lab customized a shoe to reduce weight and gain more connection to the ground.
Salomon believes the S-Lab Sense has established a new trend in trail running shoes with the concept known as “Propriotection.” Propriotection is achieved through a new fit concept called Endofit, a seamless sleeve inside the shoe’s upper construction that wraps the foot to help support and provide surface feel.
The S-Lab Sense also provides protection though a TPU film in the forefoot called a Profeel plate. Jornet won the Western States 100 and the UTMB while wearing his S-La Sense shoes without socks.
