Boardworks and Badfish Innovate on Inflatable SUP

E-mail

BoardworksBoardworks has announced a new inflatable SUP designed with patented Multi Chamber Inflatable Technology (MCIT) and the Axially Stabilizing Apparatus. Designer Phil Rainey says the new technology will allow the incorporation of elements usually reserved for hard boards, including tapered rails and enhanced rigidity. These features are included to make the MCIT accessible for all levels of SUP paddlers, from beginners and surfers to fitness paddlers and river runners. It is also easy to store and transport, great for instructional programs.

The new board will open up river SUP to Boardworks' partner, Badfish SUP. Badfish helped design the board and will use the popularity of inflatable boards for river SUP to help promote the MCIT. The board is touted by Badfish co-owner Mike Harvey as the most stable inflatable in whitewater but still nimble and fun.

The Boardworks Badfish MCIT line boasts three air compartments instead of the typical one and is comprised of 9’0”, 10’6” and 11’6” models. The boards will be available in the spring of 2012.
