Mountain Mama founder Teresa Delfín will be among the featured speakers at The Women’s Conference 2010. Delfín, who debuted the world’s first outdoor technical apparel brand for maternity at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in January, will be the featured entrepreneur and the only representative of the outdoor industry at the conference, to be held October 24-26 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
The annual event, hosted by California First Lady Maria Shriver and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, brings more than 100 speakers together with an audience of 30,000 and an online community of more than one million. Delfín will appear during the Main Event on October 26 along with Tory Johnson, the bestselling author and workplace correspondent for ABC’s Good Morning America. Among the speakers that day will be Oprah Winfrey, Billie Jean King, Diane Sawyer, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, along with a host of others.
Delfín, an 18-year veteran of the outdoor industry who has trekked the Inca Trail twice and is a winner of the Panamanian National Bouldering Competition, has an M.A. from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. from Stanford. She is a member of the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition.
