Lowe Alpine announced that Jeff Lowe will rejoin the company in a non-executive role as Honorary President in an effort to reestablish its image as a leader in both innovation and quality.
Jeff, along with his brothers Mike and Greg, built the Lowe Alpine brand in 1967. In the 1980s, high manufacturing costs and export duties led the brothers to sell the brand to a UK company, soon ending all affiliation with the brand.
However, after the purchase of Lowe Alpine by Equip Outdoor Technologies in 2011, the brand was seeking to start anew, so Lowe Alpine is working hard to recapture the potential of the brand with large investments into pack and apparel design and marketing. The Lowe Alpine brand headquarters will return to its long-time home in Kendal, UK, with a U.S. Subsidiary operating in Louisville, CO.
The newly assembled Lowe Alpine team will sponsor Jeff Lowe's film project, Metanoia, which documents his life and climbs. This climbing icon will contribute his passion, vision and experience in the outdoors in his new role as Honorary President.
