Volkswagen Inks Title Sponsorship for Sea Otter Classic Cycling Festival

Volkswagen has joined North America's largest cycling festival, the Volkswagen Sea Otter Classic Powered by SRAM, as a title partner for 2012. The cycling festival is slated to take place in mid-April at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area in Monterey, CA.

The festival has been updated with the introduction of cyclocross racing, an expanded kids riding area, an invitational downhill skateboarding exhibition and outreach for female cyclists.

According to President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Jonathon Browning, the partnership is part of the automaker's commitment to environmental sustainability. Volkswagen has also partnered with national cycling advocacy group Bikes Belong to support bike friendly communities and preserve the environment.
