ISPO Beijing and the Chinese outdoor market, as a whole, are showing strong growth. The ISPO show held at the Chinese capital has added one day to the show, running a total of four days. Exhibitors are also increasing, up by 28 percent for a total of 353 while space for the increased exhibitors has grown by 37 percent.

New exhibitors include recognizable brands like Deuter, Eagle Creek and Five Ten. Chinese exhibitors themselves have also increased by 20 percent at the show, which has a special focus this year on action sports.

As indicated by the success of ISPO Beijing, the Chinese outdoor market is growing. In a recent announcement, the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) estimates that the market will grow by 15.5 percent to $23 billion this year. However, foreign retailers only account for 3 percent of overall retail business in the country and the ratio of consumption in gross domestic product is low, only 35 percent.
