Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition has announced that Donna Carpenter, president and co-owner of Burton Snowboards will act as keynote speaker for the 2012 OIWC Breakfast and Awards Presentation. She will address issues such as “Where are all the women? Why diversity is good for business.”

Timberland will return to the 2012 Sundance Film Festival as the Official Footwear and Outerwear Sponsor. The film festival will be held January 19-29 in locations around Utah ranging from Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance.
Lululemon Founder Chip Wilson is stepping down from his executive position of chief innovation and branding officer at the apparel brand on January 29. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Lululemon's CEO Christine Day continues in her role, which she has served since 2008. Lululemon gave no reason for the decision, issuing the following statement from Chip: "I feel comfortable leaving the company with Christine Day at the helm of a world class management team whom I fully believe will continue to elevate our world."
Nonprofit Big City Mountaineers, an organization that instills critical life skills in under-resourced urban youth through wilderness mentoring has added three new members to its Board of Directors. These new leadership members, Nate Simmons, Michael Leming and Carol Sweasy will to extend the reach and impact of Big City Mountaineers.
The non-profit Gear to Grow and Cordura have partnered to host a gear drive at the upcoming Winter OR show. From January 19 to 22, Cordura's booth (#39217) will serve as the official collection point for gear.
