The North Face Announces Explore Fund Grant Recipients
The North Face has announced the recipients of $125,000 in Explore Fund grants to 51 non-profit organizations in 23 different states across the country, all of which work to connect youth to the outdoors. This is the first of two cycles of grants totaling $250,000 annually. The Explore Fund's mission is to inspire the next generation of outdoor explorers by funding non-profits who are reconnecting young people with nature. The non-profit programs must emphasize access to outdoor recreation and education about personal and environmental health.
Since the Explore Fund program was initiated in 2010, the North Face has provided $625,000 in grants to encourage active and healthy lifestyles. The application window for Explore Fund 2012 Cycle 2 grantees will be open from September 3rd through October 5th. More information for prospective grantees can be found at explorefund.org.
