Bert and John Jacobs, co-founders and leaders of Life is Good, were awarded honorary degrees as Doctors of Entrepreneurship on May 6 at Northeastern University’s 109th Commencement. More than 22,000 graduating students, their families and friends convened in Boston’s TD Garden for the occasion.
Northeastern University bestowed the honorary degrees in recognition of the Jacobs’ brothers “inspirational leadership in their profession, their community and worldwide.” The Boston-based company they founded strives to spread the power of optimism through its apparel and accessories and through its social mission to help kids overcome life-threatening challenges.
The Life is Good Kids Foundation and its action arm, the Life is Good Playmakers, provide training and support to the adults dedicated to caring for these children so that all involved lead healthier, more joyful lives. The company continues to raise money to carry out its social mission through Life is Good Festivals and the profits that the company donates to the foundation from sales of select products.
