Marmot’s new Backcountry 30 ski-touring pack has received Backcountry magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award, featured in the October 2010 issue. Originally inspired by the legendary skier Doug Coombs, the Backcountry is a redesign of the classic La Meije pack.
The pack was field-tested last winter by the editors at Backcountry in a round-up of 21 other products in the category of ski-touring day packs. It was chosen for its intuitive design and thoughtful features, particularly those angled toward ski mountaineers. These include the puncture-resistant crampon compartment and the secure, unobtrusive ice axe sleeve.
