At the recent Outdoor Retailer winter show, Outdoor Magazine presented the 2011 Social Media Awards. The publication recognized outdoor brands that have successfully gained the highest number of fans on across the 3 major social channels. This year's winners are:
Facebook's Most Liked: The North Face – (1,497,218 fans)
Twitter's Most Followed: Life is good – (69,887 followers)
YouTube's Most Viewed: Patagonia – (4,236,734 total channel views)
“With the success of last year's awards, we are pleased to continue our relationship with Fansometer and release the second annual Social Media Awards, especially as the connection between social media and marketing grows ever stronger. The brands that finished this year on top certainly understood this,” said Raimondo Forlin, publisher of Outdoor Magazine.
Since 2009 the Fansometer has been used by Outdoor Magazine to track and publish social media brand rankings. The most updated rankings are available online as well as monthly on the print magazine.
