Voting has closed and winners announced for the second “Rider of the Year” awards in whitewater kayaking. The voting was organized by Tribe Rider, a kayaking clothing collective and includes a series of awards for both men and women whitewater kayakers.
Best Trick, Best Drop, and Best Line were all voted on online from a series of video clips. The clips were compiled to show the very best in whitewater kayaking and crown a winner in each category. Less prestigious but just as breath taking is the Best Carnage section of the video that highlights the ramifications of not pulling off that perfect line or drop.
Dane Jackson took home male honors as rider of the year while Mariann Saether was crowned female rider of the year.
