At the recent Outdoor Retailer winter show, Outdoor Magazine presented the 2011 Social Media Awards. The publication recognized outdoor brands that have successfully gained the highest number of fans on across the 3 major social channels. This year's winners are:
Facebook's Most Liked: The North Face – (1,497,218 fans)
Twitter's Most Followed: Life is good – (69,887 followers)
YouTube's Most Viewed: Patagonia – (4,236,734 total channel views)

Bert and John Jacobs, co-founders and leaders of Life is Good, were awarded honorary degrees as Doctors of Entrepreneurship on May 6 at Northeastern University’s 109th Commencement. More than 22,000 graduating students, their families and friends convened in Boston’s TD Garden for the occasion.

Metcalf will accept the award on behalf of the Utah outdoor industry during the award luncheon February 17 at Salt Lake City's Little America Hotel.
