MTB Signed into Law

E-mail
President Obama signed H.R. 4380, the U.S. Manufacturing Act of 2010 (also known as the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill) into new law on August 11, 2010. However, the MTB does not take effect for another 15 days from this date.  This means that all imported product eligible for duty suspension entered or withdrawn from warehouses prior to August 26, 2010 will need to file for retroactive reimbursement for duties paid from the beginning of this year.  U.S. Customs and Border Protection has not yet published the procedures for reimbursement filing, but Outdoor Industry Association will assist members in eligibility evaluation.
