Big City Mountaineers Adds Three New Members to Leadership

Big City MountaineersNonprofit Big City Mountaineers, an organization that instills critical life skills in under-resourced urban youth through wilderness mentoring has added three new members to its Board of Directors. These new leadership members, Nate Simmons, Michael Leming and Carol Sweasy will to extend the reach and impact of Big City Mountaineers.

The new trio hail from varied backgrounds. Nate Simmons is a partner at Backbone Media and global director of marketing at Polartec. Michael Leming is chief talent scout at Nike, while Carol Sweasy is chair of the Red Wing Shoe Company Foundation. Sweasy brings previous experience on nonprofit boards and has worked as a child psychologist.

Big City Mountaineers, founded in 1989, provides opportunities to get involved from volunteer mentoring to climbing in their Summit for Someone program. The new board members all look forward to applying their skills to help serve more than 600 youth annually.
