The Paradise Area of Mount Rainer National Park represents some of the most heavily visited and hiked trails within the park. Due to the heavy travel, the 26 miles of beautiful trails in the Washington Park have been damaged. The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics reinforces its already stellar reputation for sustainable park use by partnering with the National Park Service. Together they have implemented various education programs to lessen these impacts that have occurred after recreation use.
The Center for Outdoor Ethics gave Leave No Trace training for park staff and over 50 volunteers. The Center also provided key information on park preservation in the form of signage for visitors and will host three Seattle-based events to connect with community members who will support the initiative. Leave No Trace will play a vital role in preserving this national park for years to come.
